A Visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC

On August 7, 2025, I found myself stepping into St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City with little expectation. What awaited me was nothing short of breathtaking. This towering neo-Gothic masterpiece, with its intricate spires, ornate stained-glass windows, and soaring arches, is an architectural wonder that commands reverence.

Though I am not a religious person, the sheer scale and artistry of the cathedral evoked a quiet sense of awe. The craftsmanship feels almost sacred in itself—each detail whispering centuries of devotion and human skill. Standing there, bathed in the soft light filtering through jewel-toned windows, I couldn’t help but feel a profound, almost spiritual connection—a testament to the power of architecture to inspire beyond belief.

I feel something spiritual - I don't know if it is God's spirit or my peace of mind biologically determined by changes of hormones in my body.

I see some people praying with deep intensity, each carrying their own private reasons. Others simply light candles, holding onto a quiet hope. Yet, despite the different ways they worship, I feel an overwhelming sense of equality and tranquility beneath the roof of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

All I can picture is humanity—people of every class, race, background, and skin color—lifting their hearts toward what they believe to be the One, Supreme Being

In the end, we are all simply human—living beneath the same sky, holding on to a fragile thread of hope as we make our way through life.
